Position: Procurement Specialist (Health and Personal Care)

Location: Based out of Burlington, Ontario or Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec
Status: Full-time, Permanent (1)

Quadra Chemicals is a dynamic, growing, diversified chemical distribution company with facilities across Canada and the United States. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and energetic individual to strengthen our purchasing team for our Health and Personal Care Group.

The position of Procurement Specialist is one of the most dynamic at Quadra and requires interaction with all facets of our organization. It is critical to the success of our business. We are looking for a versatile and detail-oriented candidate. This individual will work closely with Canadian and foreign suppliers to ensure prompt delivery of orders and to resolve issues that may arise during the ordering and delivery process.

Based at our head office in Vaudreuil-Dorion, QC this position focuses on the supply chain and will deal with Quadra’s portfolio of world-class national and international suppliers. The role is fast-paced in nature, requiring attention to detail and the ability to respond to a variety of time-sensitive functions.

We are looking for someone with strong experience in inventory control, purchasing and working closely with suppliers in the pharmaceutical or cosmetics industry. The candidate must be able to work in an advanced IT work environment.

Responsibilities include:
  • Closely monitor customer product demand and pro-actively adjust inventory and procurement levels as needed
  • Close communication with our sales team and our product managers
  • Placing replenishment orders with suppliers
  • Inventory control and monitoring
  • Run and analyze several systems generated reports
  • Help and make informed inventory and purchasing decisions
  • Data entry in different platforms (Oracle / JD Edwards, Excel, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Cross reference quality documents on incoming material to support our quality program
  • Assist the product managers to analyze the sales and market trends
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with our worldwide suppliers
  • Manage and support a variety of projects
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • University degree or post-secondary education
  • Oral and written bilingualism (French and English)
  • Experience in the purchase of ingredients or products related to the pharmaceutical, health, cosmetic or food industry
  • Advanced computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be detail oriented and capable to work on a team with multiple deadlines
  • Growth mindset, self-motivated and solutions-oriented attitude
