About The Role

We are looking for a Process Engineer – Metallurgical / Chemical / Mineral Processing who possesses strong technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills to join our Processing Technical Services team to aid with technological development projects in IOC’s Concentrator and Pelletizing Plants.

This role is a great opportunity to contribute to the organization’s safety and profitability while developing as a technical expert. Reporting to the Principal Advisor – Process Development you will
  • Support the health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) programs by participating in their implementation, maintenance and enforcement as well as compliance with corporate programs and policies
  • Analyse process operations, process data trends, and equipment unit operation to identify process design improvements (physical design improvements, operational strategy improvements, automation improvements), all aimed at increasing iron recovery, production or reducing cost
  • Execute both Opex and Capex development projects working closely with the engineering department
  • Be fully knowledgeable of problem solving/project leading methodologies
  • Develop material and facilitate training sessions to operators/supervisors/technicians
  • Ensures that sound engineering principles are applied in own area of activity
  • Solve problems of moderate complexity in area of activity, taking into account the global business context
About You

To succeed in this role, the following is required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Metallurgical, Chemical or Mineral Processing
  • 2-7 years’ experience in an industrial environment with a requirement for experience in concentration of minerals and/or iron ore pelletizing preferred
  • The ability to interact effectively with operations personnel at all levels
  • Experience in Autogenous Grinding, Ball Milling, Gravity Separation and/or Magnetic Separation, Flotation, Filtration, Thickening, iron ore pelletizing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently
The following is considered a valuable asset
  • Experience in Iron Ore Pelletizing
  • Process control experience
  • Ability to speak French
