You play an important role in the department, maintaining systems and performing tasks and activities that support our continuous improvement (CI) processes and culture. You help with data collection, ensure its accuracy, promote CI progress and keep track of the department KPI scorecards.

How you will contribute

You will:

  • Provide training on CI tools and techniques. You will also help departments follow our established daily management system (DMS)
  • Help teams collect data or extract it from the system to support CI activities and the DMS
  • Facilitate root-cause analysis to address identified losses and departmental KPI scorecard gaps
  • Establish new work standards to sustain improvement
  • Train and qualify colleagues on CI tools and new work standards resulting from CI activities

  • Application of lean and/or TPM tools in a factory or operations environment
  • Ability to manipulate and validate data in manual and automated systems
  • Mastery of Excel and other data analytics tools
  • Organized and disciplined to support and educate on the DMS process
  • Logical and structured thinking to extract insights from data

More about this role

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required
  • Must be certified Green Belt and familiar with Lean 6 Sigma problem solving techniques
  • This individual will possess 3 years of manufacturing experience in Lean manufacturing in the automotive, pharmaceutical, and/ or food industry
  • Previous experience leading, motivating, and engaging teams
  • Detail oriented and understand the value of bringing science and engineering to manufacturing
  • Project management experience and act as an effective change leader throughout all levels of the organization
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and work effectively with a wide array plant personnel
  • Very strong analytical and computer skills
  • Available to work mostly Monday through Friday during office hours. Flexibility to support during the off-hours due to specific situations and/ or projects
  • Self-driven and able to work with low minimum supervision
  • Passion on improving the safety culture and the quality of our products

What you need to know about this position:

  • The process engineer will oversee improvement projects across manufacturing lines within Bertrand plant, focusing on improving equipment reliability, waste reduction, overall loss intelligence and co-managing the Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery, and Moral for the lines
  • The process engineer will partner with manufacturing colleagues to identify potential project and implement solution

Education / Certifications:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in engineering required

Job specific requirements:

  • Minimum three (3) years of demonstrated leadership experience in a high - performance manufacturing, warehousing, and/or distribution work environment in food, pharmaceutical and/or automotive industry.
  • SAP experience and proficiency in MS Excel
  • LEAN Six Sigma certification an asset.

  • Flexible to support the core teams in a 24/5 manufacturing facility.
