Our East-end client not-for-profit client seeks a Head of Communications and Marketing. In this permanent role you will for develop, implement, and maintain efficient and effective communications policy and programs

Duties Will Include

• Monitoring and reviewing issues and trends related to the mandate of the organization and creating and recommending strategies or actions to manage reputational risks while promoting the organization
• Providing strategic advice to senior leadership and its members
• Leading event management activities
• Ensuring data integrity, security and adherence to business rules and stakeholder requirements
• Leading and supervising the development and implementation of the organization’s editorial policy for all publications
• Providing support to leadership through the provision of communications advice and products
• Developing and implementing and communication plans
• Leading all Media Relations activities
• Developing and maintaining marketing tools including website, social media, public service announcements and written material
• Supervising the communications and marketing team
• Preparing budget plans and managing expenses and vendors
  

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Post-secondary education in marketing, journalism, communications, public relations or a related field.
• A minimum of five years of experience in a corporate communications role
• Excellent written and spoken communications skills in English and French
• Demonstrated experience in applying best practices in communications
• Experience creating annual communication plans
• Experience in effectively supervising staff and managing a team.
• Knowledge of communications measurement methods
• An understanding of website and publishing accessibility standards and protocols
• An understanding of media relations, social media, web and digital management
• Experience using design software tools (Adobe Creative Suite).
