North Central Co-op invites all applications for the position of part-timePharmacy Student (12 hours per week)to join our team at our Chappelle Food/Pharmacy Store locationin Edmonton, AB. The successful candidate must have open availability from Monday through Friday, as well as Saturday and Sunday, with the ability to help out at other locations as required.

What you’ll do:

  • Practice as a pharmacy student in Alberta according to the standards, policies and requirements set by the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) and under the supervision of our licensed pharmacist.
  • Remain up to date on government regulations and requirements with respect to ACP, being able to demonstrate professional integrity and ensuring all professional decisions are made ethically.
  • Fully engaged in professional services and expanding scope-of-practice with the appropriate supervision and based on individual knowledge level.
  • Provide patient focused services on evidence-based drug information, and advice concerning proper and safe use of prescription medications and over the counter self-medication products.
  • Adhere to all contracts, polices, procedures, and practices implemented by North Central Co-op.
  • Ensure the safekeeping of all cash handled and of dispensary drugs. Assist in keeping accurate pharmacy inventory, including regular narcotic counts and reconciliation in accordance with regulation.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Pharmacy and:

  • You are enrolled in an accredited four-year Pharmacy Program at a Canadian University, working towards either a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSP) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
  • You have previous experience within a retail pharmacy or healthcare setting.
  • You have strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
  • You’re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
  • You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
