Who We Are

You know those big cities that still feel like small towns? Where everyone’s friendly and helps each other out? That’s like Grant Thornton. Except here we’re all professionals and there isn’t a mayor or a general store. What we’re trying to say is that we’re a large and growing professional services firm that still feels like a community. We employ over 3000 people across Canada, and we truly care about our colleagues, our clients and the communities where we work and live. That’s what’s most important to us. We’re building a thriving organization that’s purpose driven and still want to remember what your favourite milkshake flavour is.

A significant opportunity awaits someone looking to stretch and grow into the next step in their career! We are looking for a person who is excited about people development and coaching, wants to make a difference and has an ability to engage the people around them. If you are looking to challenge yourself in a role where you are building your coaching skills, influencing leaders and are responsible for creating and fostering an exceptional integration experience for our new colleagues with the support of one of the strongest networks of People and Culture (P&C) professionals in the country, this is your opportunity.

As a People and Culture Manager you’ll get to:

  • Assist our Leadership Team with talent assessment, workforce and succession planning, risk assessment and development plans
  • Advise PEI Business Unit leadership teams on all P&C related matters consistent with firm strategy, policy, and cultural aspiration
  • Contribute directly to the development of the PEI Business Unit’s People Managers by coaching them to excel in their people management responsibilities
  • Reinforce the development of a coaching culture as a way of inspiring our people and our clients
  • Connect in inspirational ways with our P&C team and work with them to prioritize successful attraction, engagement and development of talent
  • Bring the firm’s Purpose to life as the why for all important decisions, goals and activities
  • Role model collaboration, shared leadership, inclusion and a coaching orientation in all interactions – every touch leaves a trace
  • Execute the National Inclusiveness strategy in the Business Unit to integrate the firm’s commitment to inclusion in all people practices
  • Collaborate with your colleagues across the country to execute on the strategic People and Culture vision and share knowledge and best practices
  • Promote and support the firm’s employer brand in all activities within the firm and externally

In our People and Culture team we’ll love that:

You have a passion for creating an environment where people collaborate and thrive. You love that every day is different and that operating in a changing and dynamic world means that we need to get comfortable with reinventing ourselves. You know that what got us here won’t get us ’there’.

Think you’ve got what it takes to be a People and Culture Manager? Like the colour purple? Great. Here’s a few more boxes we’re also hoping you can tick:

  • Proven ability to inspire a team, articulate a vision and influence stakeholders
  • Knowledge of current legislation related to employment as well as current HR theories and practices including recruitment, policy and performance management
  • Great business acumen and the ability to bring this to life operationally day to day
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Human Resource role preferred.
  • Post-secondary education required; HR-related education and CPHR will be an asset
  • Exposure to a coaching framework would be an asset

What’s in it for you?

Profit sharing, Flex days, RRSP contributions, Firmwide holiday closure, Wellness benefits, Concierge-like benefits, Work from anywhere in Canada in the summer for 4 weeks, and more!

At Grant Thornton, we’re committed to ensuring our compensation practices are fair, equitable and competitive. To get the conversation started,

we’re happy to share that our current base salary for this role ranges from $73,000 - $90,000.

We’re focused on making a difference in the lives of our clients, our colleagues and our communities. That’s our purpose. Or, as we like to say, living our purple.

Are you ready to Discover Your Purple?
