The Payroll Administrator opportunity will be located in Surrey, British Columbia as a short-term contract / temporary role.

Key responsibilities
  • Using federal and state regulations and guidelines, ensure company compliance
  • Calculate employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments and employee federal and state income and social security taxes to determine payroll liabilities
  • Answer questions and requests related to payroll information
  • Draft relevant year-end reports, as well as weekly, monthly, and quarterly ones, for department heads
  • Exercise of proper data management by collecting, calculating, and entering payroll data
  • Enter changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers as part of managing payroll records
  • Help payroll manage all internal and external audits
  • Follow established policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations and report changes as necessary
  • Able to reconcile employee deductions and other liabilities
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies via information collection and analysis
  • Offer proper review and verification of source documents
  • Organize and compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages in order to draft relevant reports
  • Manage other tasks as assigned
  • Ensure employee confidence by protecting payroll operations and confidential information
Requirements
  • Relevant experience should include 2+ years in payroll
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
  • Excel Formulas experience
  • Previous experience using accounting software
  • Expertise with internal controls
  • Accurate, swift, data entry abilities
  • Mastery of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
  • Experience with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes
  • Meet and uphold Certified Payroll Professional criteria
  • Reliable skills in Microsoft Office with excellent Excel skills
