We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our team! As part of the Great Canadian Payroll team, you will expand your skills in a multi-faceted payroll environment through:
  • Being involved in the full cycle Payroll process
  • Working on a variety of projects designed to enhance the delivery of Payroll
  • Meeting and supporting a wide diversity of employees
Under the general direction of the Payroll Manager this position is responsible for verifying and preparing full-cycle payroll for salaried and hourly (union and non-union) team members at our various Casino locations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Reviews team member time cards using Time and Attendance system; identifies inconsistencies; liaises with site managers and HR to resolve issues and Payroll Discrepancy Reports (PDR)
  • Transfers time cards into the HCM System
  • Verifies earnings and applies garnishes, gratuities, retro-pay, taxable benefits, union dues and other irregular deductions/pay adjustments
  • Processes payroll in the HCM System; generates direct deposit files
  • Prepares payroll documentation, records and files appropriately to regulatory bodies
  • Maintains payroll database; identifies inconsistencies; liaises with HR to resolve discrepancies; maintains hard copy file system as backup
  • Identifies issues with the payroll process; proposes procedural or system enhancements to improve the accuracy and efficiency of administration
  • Responds to, resolves or escalates internal and external payroll inquiries
  • Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Builds strong working relationships with team members and external regulators
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
Education and Qualification Requirements:
  • High School Diploma; post-secondary education in payroll or a suitable combination of education and experience an asset
  • Canadian Payroll Association certificate an asset
  • Minimum 3 years of high-volume payroll experience & benefits experience
  • Experience with Oracle HCM Cloud an asset
  • Experience with Time and Attendance systems (Kronos, Virtual Roster or other) an asset
  • Computer literacy in MS Office, Excel at an intermediate level
