Job Summary
This position is considered a Payroll Administrator of problem resolution. Responsible to perform all administrative and analytical functions relevant to the position. Participate in the biweekly pay run ensuring employees are paid accurately and within established schedules.
Due to Covid-19, most of our offices are currently closed to protect the health and safety of our employees, clients and community. As such, this position will be required to work remotely for an undetermined period. Once our offices re-open you will report to Civic Center, Mississauga.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Participate in the biweekly pay run ensuring employees are paid accurately and within established schedules.
  • Assist with administrative needs coming from legislation, policy, and/or Union agreement changes.
  • Respond to internal and external client inquiries.
  • Provide HCM Time and Attendance training to City employees and affiliated system users.
  • Assist with coordinating information submitted to OMERS by ensuring that all eligible employees are enrolled, or terminated, reflecting the member information status changes.
  • Prepare various EI and CPP services reports and assist with the annual PIER reporting.
  • Respond to enquiries from EI office when needed. Assist Corporate Payroll Coordinators with biweekly pay run as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Must have 1-2 years payroll experience
  • Knowledge of Public Sector payroll processing, or experience using SAP HCM, SAP financials, or similar automated HRIS systems is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Word and Microsoft computer applications is required.
  • This position is bound by the “Freedom of Information Act”, and must hold a strong code of ethics, confidentiality, respect and recognize situations that may be perceived as a “conflict of interest”, as this position is privy to sensitive information.
  • Must have strong accuracy and attention to detail needed in a Payroll environment.
