Barks N Purrs is a force-free dog walking and pet sitting company. We are a growing business looking to hire 1 Part-time dog walkers & Pet Sitter. We love what we do and it’s a fun way to earn some extra cash for a few hours during the day.

AVAILABILITY:

• Looking for someone who can be available between 11-3 pm most days during the week
• As a part-time walker you would be filling in for our full-time walkers when they are away., or need help on busy days. Some days would be on call but most days you would be scheduled and no ahead of time.
• Ideally this person may be in school part-time or work from home and have the flexibility in their day.
• Some evening and weekend walks are needed but not mandatory
• We also provide cat visits that fall over the weekdays and weekends
• You must live in Toronto, preferably 15 min transit time to downtown Toronto.
• No car needed as we walk dogs on leash

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience owning a dog or working with dogs and walking 3-4 dogs at one time.
• Comfortable with all dog breeds, sizes and behaviours.
• You are an independent individual, able to plan walking routes, requiring little direction, but do take instruction well and always on time.
• Being in direct contact with the clients and listening to their needs. Open communication
• You are able to provide proof of a clean criminal record (and are bondable).
• Believe in positive reinforcement and force-free
• A cell phone for texting, taking photos and using an online app for your schedule
• You enjoy being outside in the rain, snow and cold weather and have the appropriate clothing for it.
• Excellent time management, quick on your feet
• Able to get your Pet First Aid course within 2 months of work

Part-time hours: 5-20 per week

Salary: $15.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 per week

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• On call
• Weekends as needed

Experience:

• volunteering at a shelter: 1 year (preferred)
• working in the animal field: 1 year (preferred)
• owning a dog: 5 years (preferred)
