We are currently looking for individuals to join our client, one of Canada’s largest insurance and financial services companies, as a Disability Administrator.

This role is open to candidates in Toronto.

Responsibilities

As a Disability Administrator, your responsibilities will be:
  • Supporting Disability Case Managers on a variety of tasks
  • Managing mail distribution as required
  • Providing front line customer service by telephone
  • Being accountable for administrative duties and follow ups with claimants for disability paperwork We are seeking individuals with the ability to grow and change with our dynamic business and who enjoy working in a team environment
  • Reviewing incoming STD/LTD/WSIB and Life claims applications against an established set of criteria
  • Applying contractual provisions to process non complex claims
  • Maintaining productive and collaborative relationships with internal partners to achieve and maintain client service deliverables
  • Prioritizing and re-prioritizing constantly conflicting demands with very tight turnaround times

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years previous experience in medical office administration
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Lotus Notes
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong customer service experience in a demanding environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision making skills
  • Analytical skills with a close attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Deadline driven
  • Insurance claims knowledge or experience
  • Knowledge of Anatomical and Medical terminology
  • The ability to build and maintain strong service relationships with plan members, plan sponsors, health care providers and internal partners
  • The ability to identify and efficiently gather outstanding claims assessment information
  • A strong commitment to quality, accuracy and timeliness
  • Strong written (emails, formal letters) and telephone communication skills as you develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Impeccable time management and organizational skill

Nice to Haves:
  • Post secondary education (would be an asset )
  • Demonstrated strength in attention to detail, particularly with numbers, spelling and grammar
  • Strong written and telephone communication skills
  • Strong ability to manage professional relationships with external and internal partners
  • Flexible and able to cope with high workload volumes and conflicting deadlines
