SLCS is currently seeking a Full Time Overnight Justice Worker at MLA Centre. As a member of this interdisciplinary team, you will provide assessment, crisis intervention, discharge planning and support services as needed. You will be expected to assess clients’ skills and needs, particularly in regard to their mental health and addiction issues, in addition to advocacy for clients involved in the criminal justice system. You will liaise with other services i.e. Probation/Parole officers, National Monitoring Centre, as well as other supports as required. In addition, you will be responsible for the safety and security of the clients and other staff during your shift. You will work collaboratively with other team members to complete administrative functions at MLA.

You will be skilled at working with clients from diverse populations, as an independent worker with strong initiative to complete tasks as needed. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all the applicable and regulatory requirements. This position is primarily located at MLA Centre.

Required Qualifications

  • University Degree or 2 - 3 year College Diploma from an accredited institution
  • Standard First Aid/CPR with AED – Level C
  • Valid G Class Driver’s License
  • 2nd Shot of COVID-19 Vaccine
  • Candidates who are proficient in both official languages of Canada will be considered an asset
