Our client within the Logistics and Transportation sector is looking for a strong leader to join their team as a Warehouse Operations Manager, you will have visibility, opportunities for personal growth, and the chance to make a meaningful impact every day.

Fully on site - located in Mississauga, ON

Must be able to work Monday - Friday 8am -5pm

Reporting to the Director, in this role, you will:

  • Take charge of all operational aspects at the facility, overseeing receiving, shipping, and sorting a variety of items, from small parts to large office and medical supply products, to ensure daily SLA’s are met and actions are aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Identify and implement new opportunities and innovative solutions to support sustainable business growth, enhance client satisfaction, and drive profitability.
  • Assist in pricing initiatives/requests and support client onboarding processes.
  • Provide input and support for operational capability in new business opportunities.
  • Propose solutions, processes, and ideas to improve production efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the achievement of business growth and profit targets.
  • Manage the operations budget and ensure P&L accountability at the operational level to meet profit targets.
  • Invest in staff and team development through coaching and mentoring, fostering cooperation and engagement.
  • Maximize productivity by efficiently allocating available resources to process the daily work volume effectively.
  • Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing and dock activities and employee performance.
  • Ensure accuracy in shipment and inventory transactions.
  • Communicate all relevant information regarding process changes, goals & objectives, and operational results to employees through daily shift meetings.
  • Enforce all relevant policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Provide hands-on direction to ensure customer and corporate requirements are met.
  • Ensure adherence to quality principles and account-specific standard operating procedures.
  • Promote adherence to health and safety practices, coaching team members on safe work practices and serving as a positive role model.
  • Provide daily updates on receiving, shipping, issues, and projects.
  • Flexibility in working hours and scheduling is required.

We are seeking a team member who possesses:

  • Post-secondary education and/or a combination of relevant experience and education.
  • Minimum 5 years of managerial experience or similar, preferably in a distribution environment.
  • Minimum 5 years of cross dock/dock experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Previous experience in the safe handling and shipping of office, kiosk, and medical supplies preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with the ability to develop and mentor team members.
  • Previous experience using SAP and warehouse management systems; experience with Logfire and TruckMate preferred.
  • Strong service quality experience with specific measures and accomplishments.
  • Proven ability to develop positive employee relations and foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Analytical skills, with the ability to plan and manage resources effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to direct and coordinate operations effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
