Job Skills / Requirements Our Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) Manager is responsible for planning, implementing and overseeing Paladin’s employee safety program. Working collaboratively with management and field teams, the OH&S Manager will work hand in hand to provide advice, monitoring, and reporting, while promoting a safety culture that exceeds expectations. This position will also have direct involvement with our internal Claims and Return to Work Administrators to bolster our overall Health & Safety program. **Responsibilities**

  • Liaise with branches and lead OHS Incident Investigations, inclusive of cause analysis and action plans
  • Critical development of new OHS Policies and Procedures that align with changes to legislation and operational needs
  • Monitor, assess, and audit compensation claims for legitimacy, possible challenge, trend analysis and cost control
  • Research and draft reports concerning all aspects of workers compensation issues inclusive of annual financial reports
  • Maintain Paladin’s COR and ISO45001 certifications
  • Maintain existing contractor portal accounts with ISNetworld, ComplyWorks, Avetta, Contractor Check, CQN, etc.
  • Develop and review training programs
  • Support development of Site Safety Management Plans
  • Provide supervisors and managers with the support and training necessary to carry out their OHS responsibilities
  • Stay up-to-date with both federal and provincial workers’ compensations statues, regulations and Acts and ensure Paladin remains compliant
  • Lead or participate in Job Hazard Assessments, as requested
  • Travel to worksites throughout the Lower Mainland occasionally

**Requirements**

  • Post-secondary education related to Occupational Health and Safety
  • Minimum of three (3) years of work experience managing a large health and safety program
  • Internal COR Auditor certificate for BC with the BCCSA
  • Class 5 BC Driver’s License
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry OHS standards and management system, and the ability to provide detailed regulatory interpretation of provincial and federal OHS regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Passionate about OHS performance improvement and have experience developing and delivering OHS solutions
  • Strong trouble-shooting skills
  • Able to prioritize & execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong team-building skills, with an ability to collaborate with a variety of team members
  • Experience working in unionized and non-unionized environments

**Salary: $80,000 - $85,000**
