Junior Designer, Shell Body

POSITION SUMMARY
Accountable for completion of more complex design tasks, Bill of Material releases and projects from concept to implementation in production. This will include all related design activities, calculations, communications, drawings, and Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs).

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Completes design tasks and project assignments which support production activities.
  • Coordinates tasks to meet schedules and dates, considering vendor and production lead times. This includes maintaining task status and recording time for each task.
  • Creates designs that meet customer specifications, Technical Summaries, and other contract documents and ensures designs are within manufacturing abilities.
  • Ensures compliance with design criteria and all applicable regulations.
  • Completes or initiates controlled testing of components and installations to meet contractual obligations, ensure product reliability and verify component fit.
  • Completes technical drawings and release documents in accordance with Engineering procedures and ENAs (Notices of Action).
  • Provides Engineering support to Production, Quality Assurance, Customer Service Support, and other departments as required.
  • Interacts with vendors and customers on design-related issues. Ensures that, where applicable, there are documents of vendor approval on new installations or applications.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • University student in Mechanical, Electrical engineering or a related discipline.
  • 1-3 years’ experience, EIT ideal.
  • Manufacturing & Assembly of assets.
  • Strong CAD/Unigraphics Drafting.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
