Job Summary

Calling all News Grads!! Are you looking for a great opportunity? Look no further. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the incumbent is primarily responsible for the development of a database that will assist with moving towards optimal inventory levels throughout the distribution network to satisfy customer orders. The incumbent will familiarize themselves with the current ERP system to support the transition to SAP.

Core Job Responsibilities
  • Lead the analysis, monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement of inventory availability to ensure complete order fill.
  • Maintain existing Python programs to support day-to-day operational activities.
  • Proactively apply continuous improvement methodologies to internal processes as well as other cross functional processes and services to improve supply chain productivity, reduce costs, and foster strong partnerships.
  • Develop and implement improvement methods to enhance inventory accuracy and reliability of supply chain planning processes, tools, and reporting to support organizational goals (i.e. capacity planning, productivity improvements, percent of perfect order initiative, improved quality, etc..)
  • Develop and maintain Metrics supporting freight utilization and overall operating model, spend and accrual reporting.
  • Variance analysis, sales forecasting, management reporting, working with operations and purchasing to maximize the efficiency of the supply chain.
  • Leverage and further develop technical and business expertise in order to enhance process, queries, reports and information streams within the Distribution network.
  • Seeking opportunities on purchase cost reduction: analytic review of intercompany and final mile freight lanes.
  • Reports - line fill & B/O - review, analyze and react upon root cause analysis- assist in driving sustainable and scalable processes to improve product availability.
  • Prioritize and cope with competing and changing objectives in support of both short and long term goals while maintaining stakeholder expectations. This is includes various ad hoc analytical work, assessing options, presenting findings, and contributing to alternative solutions to improve performance.
  • Business process optimization, coordinate execution with the operational teams to balance the use of supply chain assets with flow of goods to positively impact service levels and financial bottom line.
  • Work with existing- and help identify new- external providers of data and build reports to share throughout the organization.
  • Use technology to develop and maintain productivity tracker. The tracker will be updated regularly and show overall impact (positive) of process changes and improvements.
  • Work closely with the quality department to ensure seamless supply to support quality procedures.
Qualifications
  • Completed a degree in engineering, Computer Science, Business, logistics or a related field.
  • Experience in supply chain or inventory control considered an asset
  • Use discretion and independent judgement to answer business questions and propose solutions
  • Python experience is a must.
  • Exposure to logistics design analysis and distribution networks
  • Experience analyzing large sets of data
  • Advanced computer skills (Excel, Word, Access, QAD, SAP)
  • Ability to follow process and standard procedures
  • Consistently demonstrates proven ability to learn and use necessary tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently or in a team atmosphere.
  • Self-Starter, highly organized, with strong time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deliverables.
