GeoVerra is seeking a Natural Resource Professionallocated in Edmonton, AB to join our growing Forestry and Environmental team. The successful candidate is required to complete field work at our various client sites, these shifts can be from 2-10 days long and involve working outside in all weather conditions.

What you will do:

  • Assist on a range of planning & operations-oriented projects in the office and field.
  • Timber cruising, clearing operations coordination, monitoring.
  • Regulatory applications, permitting, environmental assessments.
  • Liaising with stakeholders, regulators, partners, and landowners.
  • Technical writing, regulatory applications, and report preparation.
  • GIS data creation, attributing, analysis, and mapping.

What you will bring:

  • 2+ years’ experience performing field work safely and efficiently throughout interior BC.
  • Professional Designation in Alberta or Eligibility as RPF, RPFT, P.Biol, or P.Ag.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with a strong work ethic and a drive to exceed expectations.
  • Field experience in wildlife sweeps, surveys, watercourse, and wetland assessments an asset.
  • Familiarity with Public Lands Act, Water Act, Wildlife Act, AEP and AER applications an asset.
  • Field experience assessing hazard trees, danger trees, or patrolling and consenting on utility lines an asset.
  • Preferred experience in stakeholder engagement, third party agreements, indigenous consultation ACO process.
  • Collaborative attitude, ability to excel in a team and independent environment.
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction through problem solving, critical thinking and decision making.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Superior attention to detail to produce professional deliverables & documentation.
  • Technical, mathematical, scientific, and computer skills including Microsoft office products, ESRI GIS, & GPS.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as per the limits provided in the Canadian Model for Providing a Safe Workplace.

Job conditions

  • Out-of-town work (shift durations between 2-10 days) and frequent travel required.
  • Ability to carry, lift and push up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
