Coeur’s wholly-owned operations include the Palmarejo silver-gold complex in Mexico, the Silvertip silver-zinc-lead mine in British Columbia, the Rochester silver-gold mine in Nevada, the Kensington gold mine in Alaska, and the Wharf gold mine in South Dakota. In addition, the Company owns the La Preciosa project in Mexico, a silver-gold exploration stage project. Coeur also conducts numerous exploration activities in North and South America. The Coeur Silvertip mine located in British Columbia, just 10 miles south of the Yukon border is seeking a Mobile Maintenance Supervisor to work in a camp based environment rotating on a 2 weeks on/off schedule.

The Mobile Maintenance Supervisor willreport to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent.

Job Duties:

Safety Compliance

  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of all safety policies and procedures affecting Silvertip operations;
  • Demonstrates safety leadership and establishes a safety culture in support of department, site and company standards;
  • Develops in concert with maintenance team; safe work procedures, job instructions and risk assessments to identify and address unsafe conditions or hazards in the workplace;
  • Reports all incidents and completes investigations on a timely basis;
  • Ensures all aspects of safety are incorporated into the Maintenance process;
  • Ensures adequate and suitable safety equipment including PPE is supplied, readily accessible, properly used and maintained.
  • Ensures trades are adequately trained to fulfill the requirements of the job.
  • Environmental Management
  • Ensures that in all aspects of the operation, environmental policies and practices are followed keeping the preservation of the natural environment a priority.

Mine Maintenance Performance and Reporting

  • Coaches and develops a Maintenance Team; implementing proven and new maintenance methods and techniques in improving availability/reliability of the Mobile fleet;
  • Develops daily work plans including applicable permits and ensures communication of assigned work with maintenance personnel;
  • Ensures parts, equipment, materials, tools, procedures, technical documentation and drawings, are coordinated and managed;
  • Ensures effective use of the work order system
  • Assists in the preparation of department operating and capital budgets, forecasts, monthly cost analysis and reporting;
  • Promotes continuous improvement in maintenance methods/performance, employee safety and equipment;
  • Plan and schedule maintenance activities to maximize availability and reduce downtime;
  • Assists in the development of the Maintenance Management System.

Teamwork

  • Coordination and alignment of production needs with the maintenance requirements of the equipment;
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead others and collaborate with peers and senior management;
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with internal stakeholders and contractors/vendors.

Position Requirements:

  • Valid Red Seal or interprovincial Journeyman Certificate as a Heavy Duty Mechanic;
  • 10 years’ experience in the repair and troubleshooting of Mobile equipment;
  • 5 years’ Supervisory experience;
  • Experience using a CMMS system;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office;
  • Valid driver’s license.
