The Opportunity: Our client, a well-known consulting engineering firm deeply rooted in Building Services, is searching for an ambitious and value driven Project Manager with Mechanical background to help grow, develop, and round out their office. This person can be based in Kingston, Kitchener, or London with a hybrid work model (2-3 days) and flexible work schedule. Recent projects managed include airplane hanger, airports, institutional buildings, school board, long term care homes, industrial buildings such as automotive facilities. This position offers someone to help the company expand their new project ventures including establishing business with MER and sustainable buildings & zero energy buildings. The company will consider relocation for a successful candidate. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Review and stamp mechanical projects of all complexities and sizes
  • Direct design strategies/concepts on complex projects
  • Provide technical leadership within the mechanical team
  • Lead audits, feasibility assessments and investigations and write corresponding reports.
  • Support efforts in the continuous development of mechanical design standards and practices.
  • Mentor intermediate and junior level engineers and designers
  • Involvement in troubleshooting construction issues
  • Communicate with clients, contractors and sales reps, prepare project documentation and coordinate with other engineering disciplines
  • Conduct site visits/reviews and construction phase services
  • Work on exciting institutional designs, airplane hangers, long-term care homes and airports.
  • Be responsible for managing a project from start to finish including client discovery and design to invoicing What You’ll Need to Be Successful:
  • Design experience with numerous central plant systems including hot water, steam, and chilled water systems
  • Significant exposure to DDC control systems; writing sequences of operations and specifications, and troubleshooting on-site control issues
  • Extensive code knowledge including but not limited to: OBC, ASHRAE standards, CSA standards, ASPE standards
  • Design experience in multiple industries which may include: commercial, industrial, educational, multi-unit residential, healthcare, government, etc.
  • Engineering license in Ontario with 10+ years of design experience in the building construction industry and at least 5 years design experience in Canada.

  • Ability to multi-task and be organized, especially under the stress of deadlines
