Job Description:

The Lake Louise Ski Resort Maintenance Department is seeking an individual to be a part of the Maintenance team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager the successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual. You will play an integral part in the overall success of the Maintenance Department, and The Lake Louise Ski Resort’s commitment to sustainable recreation use by engaging in numerous Maintenance projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, excited to work on a wide variety of projects, have a good level of fitness, and be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions. The successful candidate will focus primarily on the implementation of a new Computerized Maintenance Management System.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with two mechanical Professional Engineers and a mechanical EIT. This is a 4-month term running January through April 2022. Job Responsibilities:

  • Help to create the maintenance strategy for chair lifts, snow cats, vehicles and buildings at the ski resort.
  • Create technical documents to support the various disciplines within the maintenance department.
  • Support the Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program for the LLSR transportation fleet.
  • Create engineering drawings as required.
  • Communicate with supervisors and trades to advance the state of maintenance at the resort.
  • Interpret technical manuals to populate the new maintenance system.


Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated, must be capable of working with a team as well as independently.
  • Strong English language skills are required to create technical documents.
  • Must be able to read engineering drawings including structural and line diagrams.
  • A police background check, from your home province, will be required upon commencement of employment.
  • Minimum second year mechanical engineering completed.
  • Mechanical aptitude and demonstrated hands-on mechanical work is an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s license (or equivalent) with clean driving record (abstract/traffic history report must be provided before commencement of employment)
  • Previous experience in maintenance or related field is highly recommended and preference would be given to those with some relevant experience and interest.
  • Valid First Aid certificate an asset.
  • Valid avalanche training is asset.
  • Local knowledge of the area and/or resort, along with downhill skiing experience is preferred.
  • Follow all LLSR policies and procedures


Work Schedule:

During the winter season you will be expected to work 5 x 8-hour days a week. Schedules may vary throughout your contract.
