The What

Reporting directly to the Director, Engineering Services, the Mechanical Engineer is responsible for overseeing engineering science in BC and contributing to the development of industry leading products.

This role is responsible for:

  • Providing engineering analysis for existing and future product designs.

  • Develop the BC PPMP plan to comply with EGBC guidelines.

  • Engineer mechanical components, subsystems and assemblies from specification through design,
analysis, and validation testing.

  • Ensure that designs are technically and commercially viable and can be reliably manufactured within

cost targets.

The How

  • Design and configure products following internal standards and procedures

  • Produce high quality engineering documentation in the form of drawings and reports

  • Work closely with other departments including sales, procurement and production

  • Produce bills of materials as needed for procurement and production teams

  • Perform engineering analyses

  • Review product designs for manufacturability

What we need

  • 5+ years prior work experience in a manufacturing or design engineering environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial or Agricultural)

  • P.Eng Certification in Canada, with a straightforward path to certification in BC.

  • The ability to produce work with a high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail

  • Time management skills and the ability to prioritize effectively

  • Able to work independently without detailed supervision

  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and oral

  • Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude

  • Understanding of weld design

  • Working knowledge of hydraulic systems
