Materials Technician, Apprentice 1st Year

Reporting to the Warehouse Foreman, the Materials Technician is responsible for providing general warehouse support to the Fort McMurray Branch facility.

Responsibilities included, but not limited to:

• Receive incoming goods, check goods against incoming bill of lading and note any shortages or damages.
• Prepare freight for outgoing shipments.
• Picking parts for orders and assembling orders.
• Ensuring components are tagged correctly and documents distributed appropriately.
• Assist in the warehouse as needed.

Qualifications:

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. One or more years training/experience in an industrial environment or a related trade would be considered an asset. Previous forklift experience is considered an asset.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and pay attention to detail.
• Possess above average computer, communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy with a variety of individuals and groups.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to operate with a forklift and crane.
• The ability and attitude to ensure compliance to all workplace health and safety policies.
• Possess a strong work ethic, a commitment to excellence, acute safety awareness.
