Material Handler/Forklift Operator - AFTERNOON SHIFT

The Material Handler is an integral part of the bakery, working directly with all stages of production, from mixing to the packaging area and warehouse.

The hours for this position will be 2:30-11 pm.

Main Responsibilities:

• Prepare and dispense material for production.
• Perform general physical activities in order to load, unload, sort and move products and materials by forklift or using other material handling equipment.
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions for work assignments
• Complete required tracking sheets accurately.
• Wrap and load pallets of finished goods on to trailers for shipment.
• Comply with all safety, food safety, and quality programs.

Education and experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have at least 1 year of experience operating a counterbalance forklift
• Basic understanding of food safety, quality processes and process compliance
• Intermediate written and oral communication skills (English).
• Attention to detail is critical.
• Ability to work effectively in a team or independently.
• Able to carry weights up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
• Able to utilize manual moving equipment including; pallet jacks, and carts
• Supports continuous improvement initiatives within the plant.
