Job Description
We are currently seeking a Material Planner/Buyer to join the Teva team on a contractual basis.
Tasks and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- To ensure the raw materials (API, excipients), packaging components (printed, non-printed) & non-BOM (Bill of Material) items are available to support the MPS (Master Production Scheduling). This includes new business opportunities, launches and all reports / metrics associated
- Ensure that PO’s are placed and fulfilled in an effective and timely manner as per material requirements identified by ERP system. Maintain accurate PO dates.
- Acts as primary liaison with suppliers (on day-to-day supply issues) and internal stakeholders, and as primary contact for the resolution of material supply issues
- Purchase and manage an inventory levels based on site targets ($ value); Follow up with accounts payable on any outstanding payments/deficiencies
- Work with the Finite Schedulers and Planning Manager to align material requirements, confirm demand to support the rolling production schedule that will enable promised ship dates to be met with the available labor and equipment resources.
- Works with warehousing/sampling and quality control personnel to ensure plan is met. Establish and communicate the future material deliveries within Receiving, Sampling and QC lab.
- ERP Master data: Update Safety Stock Parameters , Oracle Planning, Purchasing and Master Data regularly for existing and new items; Maintain and review Item Data, and inventory levels for assigned category based on established guidelines
- Participates in weekly department planning meetings; Escalate required changes to the MPS to the planning team
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Ensures compliance with all Company policies and procedures, including GMP/Quality and Safety rules and regulations.
Qualifications
College/University - Degree/diploma, or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, administration, supply chain operations or related discipline; CSCMP or APICS (CPIM or CIRM) designation or working towards completion of certification preferred
- Three (3) years + of demonstrated buying/planning experience; Experience in managing pharmaceutical products in an operations environment preferred.
- Strong computer skills especially with Excel and ERP systems (Oracle or SAP)
- Good understanding of MRP and procurement process, planning and supply chain processes.
- Develop and maintain a good knowledge of the materials/products in specific portfolio
- Understanding of purchasing and negotiating processes.
- Good understanding of markets behaviors and characteristics, in particular related to the pharmaceutical business.
- Some travel between Teva Canada sites (30 Novo, Hood Rd & Stouffville).
