Reporting to the AVP, Petline Operations, the Manager, Marketing and Communication is responsible for developing integrated marketing and communication programs and campaigns that drive brand awareness and support business growth objectives across our portfolio of pet insurance brands. Your exceptional ability to plan and oversee the delivery of programs and campaigns in a high-volume, quick-turnaround environment will directly influence our success. Equally as strong, your energy and enthusiasm will have internal and external teams rallying together toward a common goal. What can you expect in this role?

  • Develop and oversee the overall marketing strategy and campaign/creative direction for our portfolio of pet insurance brands on a quarterly/annual basis.
  • Research and provide recommendations on new marketing/creative/digital tactics that will help to increase lead generation, including more focus on measurable tactics such as social media, video, email and geo targeting.
  • Develop new marketing programs and campaigns that support targeted segments across our portfolio of pet insurance brands.
  • Drive enablement efforts that will arm our sales and business development teams with the collateral and tools they need to increase demand and accelerate pipeline
  • Contribute to business development initiatives by actively meeting with business development and territory managers to present brand and demand generation campaigns and ideas, determine effective communication channels, develop targeted programs that will drive increased response rates, and prioritize implementation plans
  • Manage relationships and day-to-day project tasks with internal and external marketing resources — from strategy and planning, concept development, campaign execution and through to reporting and postmortems.
  • Defining the scope of projects in collaboration with senior management and business stakeholders and ensuring scope changes are logged, estimated, reviewed, approved, and incorporated accordingly into project deliverables and plans.
  • Track the effectiveness of programs by measuring and reporting on key performance indicators
  • Lead, coach and motivate your marketing, communication, social, design and digital team members to produce best in class omni-channel experiences and create alignment and synergy with the web application development team for web delivery
  • Working with management team to establish marketing and communication goals and operational plans to achieve growth targets and customer-focused metrics.

What do you bring to the role?

  • University degree or college diploma in business, marketing, communications, or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive professional experience in a marketing environment and 3 years of leadership with a proven ability to inspire and motivate your team.
  • Expert knowledge in communication planning, multi-channel marketing including digital advertising, media, web, social, email, and other digital or physical promotion strategies
  • Strong promotional copywriting and editing skills
  • Experience developing and presenting ideas and plans persuasively to key stakeholders and senior management
  • Experience managing external vendors and internal resources
  • Exposure to the insurance industry is an asset but not required
  • You’re a brilliant marketer whose creativity and passion inspires those around you

  • You’re equally excited about pitching new ideas as you are about executing defined tactics
