Your Opportunity:Reporting to the Director of Adult Community Addiction and Mental Health, the Manager will be responsible for the oversight of the Red Deer Overdose Prevention Site (OPS). This is a health care service where people can consume pre-obtained substances under the supervision of trained staff. Basic health care, emergency care in response to an overdose event, education on the consequences of illicit substance use, less harmful consumption practices, and referrals to recovery services including Opioid Agonist Therapy (OAT), detox, addictions counselling and day and bed based treatment along with other mental health, health and social services are provided as part of a recovery orientated system of care.Description:The Manager is responsible for the planning, delivery and evaluation of OPS programming, and for ensuring the operation of the OPS complies with the applicable Health Canada and Government of Alberta requirements. The Manager will be a leader and mentor to the program team which is comprised of Regulated Health Professionals including RN, RPN, Paramedics and allied staff including Social Workers, Addiction Counsellors and Peer Support Workers. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to create and collaborate with internal and external partners and stakeholders. The manager will promote a client-centered care environment, recognizing that relationship-building is foundational to evidence-based intervention work with a focus on reducing harm and supporting positive, recovery orientated interactions for clients with complex needs. The Manager must be able to effectively manage complex situations with competing demands. Minimum of 3 - 5 years management experience with extensive experience in supporting vulnerable populations through harm reduction and trauma-informed approaches. Understanding and ability to use AHS financial and human resource related systems. Ability to complete any required certifications needed to oversee the services within the responsibility of this role. Excellent analytical and financial skills; Ability to consolidate information and convey it effectively visually and verbally. Effective communicator with strong organizational & team building skills, patient focused orientation and commitment to providing safe, quality services. Leadership skills including demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making, coaching & teaching, and the ability to build trust and confidence. Proven ability to foster partnerships and work collaboratively with others. Ability to plan, organize and manage short- and long-term plans and projects and deliver patient focused results.Additional Required Qualifications:For those eligible, current registration with their regulatory college is required.Preferred Qualifications:Masters in related field. Addiction and Mental Health experience, including working with diverse and/or marginalized populations, particularly the homeless and people who use substances. Experience working in an Overdose Prevention Site. Knowledge of challenges encountered by Indigenous people in using health care services, and of health care systems providing care to Indigenous people.
