About This Opportunity

As a key member of the Coke Canada Procurement team, the Manager, Procurement, Real Estate and Facilities is a key advisor for the Director, Procurement on all procurement related matters. Providing support to Coke Canada for sourcing and purchasing activities, this role is responsible for ensuring effective and efficient management on all business matters relating to the Procurement department. Additionally, the Manager, Procurement has the responsibility to ensure effective management of financial systems within Procurement, including budgeting and financial analysis of departmental and supply chain activities and costs, and the internal/external financial and procurement management audit processes. This individual will focus on supporting negotiations related to real estate leases and acquisitions, as well as supporting all services related to the Distribution Centers, Plants, inclusive of utilities, waste and recycling.

Responsibilities

Procurement Management:

  • Maintains responsibility for the Procurement Management responsibilities as an independent contributor.
  • Ensures appropriate systems and procedures are developed and implemented, applying appropriate procurement management in accordance with Broader Public Sector Directives, UHN Policy, Trade Agreements and other rules that apply
  • Provide day-to-day coaching and support to procurement staff and other staff in support of procurement management activities
  • Reviews and audits procurement activities, highlighting key issues for remediation
  • Work with external auditors as required, to ensure appropriate procurement management
  • Ensure that procurement activities are aligned with Coke Canada’s Procurement Management policies and procedures, including reporting to Coke Canada’s Finance on procurement activities
  • Develops, implements, manages and reviews short and long-term plans which are in alignment with Coke Canada’s goals, strategies and imperatives for success


Project/Special Project Management:

  • Maintains responsibility for the effective management and execution of projects and special projects, including influencing the Management Team to determine priorities for new initiatives
  • Lead /or Co-Lead special projects, as assigned, mentoring and coaching team members to complete special projects and assignments
  • Assist in the negotiation and implementation of contracts for designated services
  • Key contributor in supporting the Sustainability Steerco and related projects
  • Maintain communication with the Management Team to ensure awareness of all procurement issues that may have a financial and/or operational impact


Administrative Management:

  • Performing administrative responsibilities to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Procurement department, including: Collaborating with the Director, Procurement, Senior Director, Corporate Services, Chief Financial Officer and other appropriate parties to develop policies and procedures; allocating funds, implementing and ensuring policies and procedures are followed Implementing policies and programs, within scope of authority
  • Reviewing and approving documents and reports submitted by management and senior personnel
  • Coordinating activities between departments within assigned division
  • Sitting on appropriate committees internal and external to Procurement Department, internal and external to Coke Canada and conducting inter-departmental meetings, as required
  • Maintain signing authority for shared accounts, within scope of authority

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management or a recognize equivalent
  • Supply Chain Management Professional (S.C.M.P.) designation preferred or working towards it
  • Minimum 8-10 years of management experience (large organization and supply chain experience preferred)
  • Successfully managed procurement processes, business management, financial planning, performance measurement and budgeting functions
  • Solid experience in project management and special projects
  • Exposure to internal control systems in a multidivisional organization

Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, negotiation and strong presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate
  • Proven problem solving and system development skills,
  • Ability to develop and teach educational programs for senior staff
  • Ability to multi-task and have strong time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented
  • Must have advanced level in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of information systems management, preferred knowledge of SAP, Ariba is preferred
  • Knowledge of Contract management and Bid management software is preferred
