The Company

Poly-Nova opened in Guelph in 1996. We have a 30,000 square foot manufacturing plant and employ about 140 employees. We produce rubber products for the automotive & power transmission industries. Our areas of expertise are in the area of rubber molding, material development, engineering, injection molding and over molding.

In 2011 we were purchased by Starlim Sterner, market leaders in Silicone Liquid Injection Molding, with the head office in Austria and a manufacturing plant in London Ontario. With the ability to offer rubber and silicone under one company we can expect exceptional growth for the future.

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team! You will be responsible for completing work orders and other required tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on facility equipment/machines.
  • Troubleshoot, find root cause of breakdowns and minimize production downtime.
  • Work under pressure/deadlines to reqair equipment/machines to minimize downtime.
  • Complete work and repair orders in a timely fashion
  • Estimate time and extent of repairs
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance
  • Maintain material and supply inventory
  • Oversee work performed by outside contractors as necessary
Qualifications
  • Injection molding experience an asset with thermoplastic/rubber
  • Hands on technical machine repair/troubleshooting knowledge working with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, & PLC controlled production machinery
  • Exposure to and knowledge of robotics and automation, bowl feeders, vision inspection systems
  • Excellent attendance and safety record
  • Strong problem solving and collaboration with others
  • Previous experience in maintenance or other related fields
  • Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
