Shape Foods is a leading manufacturer of high-quality Flax products. Our 70,000 sq. foot BRC Certified production facility which is located in Brandon, MB. is uniquely focused on flax seed-based Omega-3 production and development which allows us to be a leader in the industry.

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the receiving and delivery of supplies, equipment and manufactured products between our plant and customer/vendor locations.

Responsibilities:

· Keep track of incoming and outgoing products

· Schedule all product pickup and deliveries while adhering to necessary customer and production schedules

· Communicate and liaise with freight companies – maintaining a good working relationship with previous existing relationships, as well as forging new ones

· Cooperate with trucking firms, carriers and brokers which can satisfy the delivery needs of the company

· Monitor the performance of carriers and brokers

· Negotiate rates and arrangements with identified transportation suppliers to ensure rates are competitive

· Arrange for transportation of all finished goods to ensure arrival as requested by the Customer

· Continually review freight rates to confirm competitiveness

· Keep the appropriate personnel informed of scheduled deliveries and shipments

· Verify accuracy of orders prepared for shipment

· Maintain cooperation with the company’s customs broker to ensure proper documentation flow for imports and exports

· Renew or maintain all logistics shipping documents to ensure they are up to date and have proper signatures and certifications

· Generate all documentation required for shipments including export documentation.

· Arrange suitable insurance coverage with CNA for all export ocean shipments

· Maintain a good level of communication to other departments for all shipments, documentation, and freight costs/estimations

· Process all shipment insurance claims when needed

· Adhere to internal and external safety standards, regulations, laws and policies

· Work with A/P to confirm and verify the proper payment of all freight and freight related invoices

· Assist with any freight related claims

· Manage and compile weekly and monthly freight reporting and spreadsheets to management

· Send invoices to customers

· Other duties as assigned

Essential Skills and Competencies for this candidate will include:

• Well versed in using various programs including Word, Excel, Email, ERP software.

• Ability to thrive in a team environment as well as when working independently
• Proficient in statistics and forecasting with proven forecasting methods including a strong understanding of their financial and operational impacts
• Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build relationship with business partners and team members

Preferred Experience for this candidate:

• 3+ years’ experience in a Logistics/Procurement role or similar role
• 3+ years’ experience working with international customers
• 3+ years’ experience creating and negotiating purchasing contracts
