Alphalete Trucking Ltd. is a leader in the trucking industry and is looking to expand its team. We are looking for a dispatcher to join our team and help keep the trucks rolling.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Dispatch of goods
• Process and transmit information and instructions to co-ordinate the activities of vehicle operators using computer-aided communications and dispatching equipment
• Dispatch drivers of goods according to written schedules and work orders
• Advise drivers of route and traffic problems such as construction, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, weight and size restrictions and other information
• Maintain vehicle operator work records using computerized or manual methods and ensure time sheets and payroll summaries are completed accurately
• Maintain computer and manual records of mileage, fuel use, repairs, and other expenses, and generate reports.

Hours of work: As per scheduled shift. Dispatch operates Monday through Friday; 7:00 to 19:00

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma
• Post secondary education preferred
• 1-2 years experience in the truck/transport industry preferred
• Literate in Microsoft office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel. Ability to learn other trucking software and satellite systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Commitment to customer service and quality standards
• Ability to problem solve, multi-task, and work through stressful situations
• Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
• Organized and detail oriented
• Ability to decipher and communicate regulatory and safety information as well as technical data
• Continuous improvement or professional development

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Winnipeg, MB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
