Role Purpose/ Summary:

The Logistics Assistant coordinates inventory management, warehousing, and transportation activities in order to optimize inventory levels and minimize costs. Provides clerical support for inbound and outbound logistical operations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage our freight requirements and determine load details.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with a carrier base.
  • Palletize weekly shipments and get them out the door in a timely, effective manner.
  • Consistently record communication with carrier base to ensure we provide the utmost in customer service.
  • Supervise procedures for loading and / or unloading trucks.
  • Maintaining all shipping and receiving of inventory with proper documentation
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and external (customers);
  • Organizing, stacking, and banding pallets for removal, communicating for pick up.
  • Providing excellent customer services; acting as a liaison between the company and its customers/vendors; phone calls, emails as required
  • Ensure quality by following standard work instructions and identifying any potential risks to product quality.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years in a teamwork environment.
  • Knowledge of Cannabis Act and Regulations an asset.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Excellent leadership skills, problem solving skills and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient with computers, Excel, etc.
  • Team oriented focus and coaching management style an asset
  • Extremely organized and high attention to detail
  • High work ethic standards a must
  • Flexibility to deal with constant change and ability to work under presser and tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills, strategic and tactical thinking, and a working knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation approaches.

  • High attention to detail and processes
  • Able to multi-task efficiently.
  • Willingness to perform cleaning and sanitation duties in general production areas
  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a high level of quality
