Golden Door Geriatric Centre is currently hiring 0.8 Permanent Days Licensed Practical Nurse. The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for the day to day care and supervision of safe, efficient resident centered care activities within the Centre in a manner that maximizes quality care and services within the EDEN model of care. The L.P.N. recognizes and fulfills their professional responsibilities. They will work in conjunction with Director of Care, Care Coordinators, Nursing Team Members and other Care Team Members at the Centre.

Education and Experience:

• Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program required
• Current active practicing registration with CLPNM
• Experience in geriatrics preferred.
• Additional Wound Care & Diabetes course preferred.

Primary Duties:

• Understands and practices within the scope of practice
• Identifies problems and implements nursing care plans in conjunctions with Resident and/or family and other members of the health discipline team.
• Acknowledges and implements physician’s orders
• Delivers and documents nursing care on the Residents chart using the nursing process.
• Maintains communication with other members of the health care team.
• Reports any change in Resident status to the Nursing Supervisor or appropriate health discipline team member.
• Maintains professional and organizations standards of personal behavior and appearance.
• Demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check, Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.

Golden Door Daily Rate is based on 8.25 hours
