Qualifications Required:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree plus a two-year diploma from a recognized Library Technician program.
- Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of recent related library experience.
- An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
- Experience providing reference and instructional services, preferably in an academic setting.
- Knowledge of the Canadian Copyright Act, the licencing of copyrighted content, and open educational resources.
- Experience with digital collections software (Islandora, ContentDM, etc.) and XML an asset.
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and written.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated negotiation and problem solving skills.
- Accuracy and the ability to pay attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of print, electronic and Internet resources for a wide variety of disciplines.
- Demonstrated initiative in problem solving.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Commitment to developing professional knowledge and skills on a continuing and ongoing basis.
Hours & Days of Work: 9:00am - 5:15pm Monday to Friday.
