Lead Materials Planner

Join our Canadian OIC Supply Chain Team


Our Upstream Chemicals team oversees our chemical technology solutions for hydrocarbon production, transportation and processing. We are a leader in oil and water separation technology and in solutions to control corrosion, deposition, bacteria’s. We provide chemicals and support to enhance plant processes, improve productivity, manage water treatment, and resolve environmental issues.


Play a key role in on time delivery to customers


As a Lead Materials Planner you will be responsible for planning and scheduling of the materials required to execute the business. Work with operations and supply chain partners to translate the demand (forecasts, sales orders, and planned orders) to physical orders and ensure they are delivered to meet the production requirements.


As a Lead Materials Planner, you will be responsible for:


  • Executes MRP for materials and issue purchase orders to ensure material availability for Operations
  • Maintain MRP (Materials Requirement Planning) inputs.
  • Communicates any known or potential material shortages delays or issues, while also working to develop solutions with internal resources
  • Interacting with the region sales and operations to understand and action the regional forecast
  • Collaborating with the operations team to convert demand plans into physical orders
  • Maintains target inventory levels by monitoring inventory levels and appropriately recommends cost-reducing inventory actions to leadership
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements while minimizing inventory and shipping cost
  • Performing various material management analysis such as consumption and forecasts, aged inventory, aged purchase orders, safety stock
  • Attend the Daily Production Communication meeting to report issues and status
  • Supports Corporate Procurement Managers in the implementation of any Divisional or Plant Cost Savings initiatives

To be successful in this role you will:


  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree or relevant industry equivalent experience
  • Have experience in order management, inventory optimization and management, asset utilization and management
  • Have an advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrate an ability to communicate professionally at all levels, lead meetings and collaborate with internal stakeholders
  • Be a good team player, enjoy collaborating and solving problems with others
  • Be excited by and demonstrate an ability to learn new processes and applications
  • Have proficient skills in SAP
