Nature of position: Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)

Wage: $29 per hour, with an overtime rate of $43.50 per hour above 40 hours per week

Vacation: 4% in lieu of paid vacation days

Language required: English, spoken and written

JOB DUTIES. The following duties will be performed in this position:

• Implement and allocate tasks to landscaping workers.
• Manage and coordinate landscape projects with other work units according to priorities and plans.
• Plan and construct landscaped environments on commercial and residential construction sites throughout the Lower Mainland.
• Estimate materials and labour requirements for individual contracts.
• Order supplies and materials as needed.
• Create and maintain work schedules and procedures.
• Resolve work-related conflicts and problems when they arise.
• Supervise and train workers in job duties and company policies.
• Oversee and assess landscape sites.
• Work in outdoor, all-weather conditions.
• Perform physically demanding tasks, such as shoveling dirt/gravel, installing tiles/frames, moving pavers, wheelbarrowing back and forth, digging trenches, etc.
• Follow safety regulations onsite and attend training programs as needed.
• Regularly interact with landscapers, coworkers, office staff, and other trades and safety personnel.

REQUIREMENTS. The successful applicant will possess, at a minimum, the following skills and experience:

• Completion of secondary school is required.
• At least 6 months of proven experience as a landscaper is required.
• A valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence is preferred.
• A level of physical fitness sufficient to perform the job duties is required.
• Applicant must be well-organized and professional, with attention to detail.
• Demeanour and attitude appropriate for a client-facing position are required.
