Overview
This position is a permanent, full-time, year round non-exempt position.
Job Summary
The this position requires someone diversified in multiple equipment operation with experience in handling bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas, and to load/unload trucks, with a bonus for someone that can torch cut .
Responsibilities
- Loads and unloads heavy material.
- Understanding of material grades.
- Adheres to pile management procedures.
- Performs routine maintenance such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
- Completes inspection report prior to using equipment.
- Manual labour in the yard
- Draining vehicle fluids
- Observes and reports any safety issues
- Torch Cutting
- Customer service
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- High school diploma / GED
- Good customer service
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Applicants must have 2-3 years of heavy equipment operation experience, i.e. shear, excavator, material handler, front end loader or equivalent
- Torch Cutting
- Must have industry experience
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Successful candidates must undergo drug & alcohol test.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
