Reporting to the Maintenance Execution Manager, you will provide exceptional support to the maintenance shop within our mine equipment maintenance area.

You will use your expertise to:

  • Follow all processes and procedures to ensure the safety of our people, equipment and the environment
  • Move and stock supplies and materials
  • Clean parts and equipment for return to warehouse using hotsy wands and shop chemicals
  • Utilize a forklift when required
  • Complete general maintenance and housekeeping duties as required
  • Clean mobile equipment as needed

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Proven experience in mining or an industrial workplace
  • Completed forklift training
  • Completed OSSA and CSTS training
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

  • A strong safety focus and exceptional safety record
  • Strong social, organizational, and communication skills
  • The ability to anticipate potential problems and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions, as well as having a strong sense of accountability
  • A continuous improvement mindset and are able to seek greater knowledge and understanding of the systems, process and hazards in the workplace
  • A zero-tolerance for shortcuts, and if the procedure is incorrect, you fix it

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • You primary residence must be within 60km of Fort McMurray
  • The shift schedule is a six days on/six days off rotation (three days, three nights, six off; 12-hour shifts)
  • You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
