SEASONAL Labourer III Parks & Recreation

The City of Martensville has an immediate opening for a short-term, full-time Labourer III in the Parks & Recreation department. The duration of the current position will be approximately two months, September & October.

This position, however, is full-time SEASONAL, subject to annual layoff and recall, with the typical employment period being 6 months annually, approximately April through September.

Job Duties

The role performs a wide variety of duties throughout the Recreation & Community Services Department and is responsible for the following:

• Maintenance of parks, playing fields, playgrounds, and boulevards;
• Assist with sports & leisure facilities’ maintenance and operations;
• Operate equipment for Parks & Recreation;
• Minor maintenance of small equipment;
• Other duties as assigned.
  

Requirements

• Applicants must:
• Be safety conscious and demonstrate a high level of attentiveness to their own personal safety as well as that of their co-workers and the public;
• Be able to perform physically strenuous work and to work outdoors under various weather conditions;
• Have their Grade 12 diploma and a valid Class 5 Driver’s License;
• Experience in equipment operation, parks maintenance, general labour, or construction is preferred.
• Municipal work experience is considered an asset.
• Applicants are subject to a criminal record check.
  

Rate of Pay: As per local CUPE Agreement; Current Rate (2022): $17.22/hour
