ROLE TITLE: LAB ASSISTATNT

DEPARTMENT: QUALITY CONTROL

REPORTS TO: SUPERVISOR, QUALITY CONTROL

HOURS: EVENING SHIFT 15:30 to 00:00

This role will be responsible for ensuring all laboratories are clean and an audit ready state. This position provides laboratory support by ensuring labware (dissolution systems and glassware) are cleaned and available for use. Assists with sample login, retain sample program, laboratory waste disposal, and receiving of laboratory supplies and reagents.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean glassware and ensure it is available for use. Participate in dissolution systems clean-up and organization for regular use in laboratories.
  • Participates and supports the department in the routine cleaning of laboratory facilities ensuring the laboratory is clean and audit ready state.
  • Assist the department with sample and waste disposal.
  • Assist with receiving of laboratory supplies and placed in appropriate locations within the laboratory.
  • Assist with the sample log-in and retain samples program when required.
  • Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and regulatory requirements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Assist department on manage documents such as lab books, SST packages, etc.
  • Participate in occupational health, safety, and wellness.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education is required.
  • Minimum of one year in a manufacturing or laboratory environment is required.
  • Understanding of Canadian and US cGMP requirements.
  • Strong computer skills, SAP/GLIMS knowledge is an asset
