Job Description

We are looking for a Laboratory Analyst to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute and perform testing as per methods, following the company’s Standard Operating Procedures, Deviations and Change Control programs and cGMP/ISO 17025 guidelines;
  • Ensure a high level of accuracy in sample preparation and analysis;
  • Operate and maintain all necessary instruments and equipment to complete tasks, maintains required daily records and documentation;
  • Meet quality and TAT specifications required by the client and ensure samples are analyzed within holding time requirements;
  • Identify and document all known sample deviations, non-conformances, and/or process deviations and report to the Supervisor;
  • Provide input to corrective action procedures and report problems and Corrective Actions to the Supervisor;
  • Provide Supervisor/Manager with updates on works status including advance notification of any delays;
  • Participate in developing Standard Operating Procedures and general work instructions;
  • Participate in the development / validation of new procedures and instruments, as required;
  • Monitor the laboratory to improve efficiencies and reduce costs in a continuous and ongoing fashion;
  • Support and comply with all company policies, Quality System and Health & Safety program;
  • Participate, when requested in internal and external audits;
  • Provide training and guidance to junior staff;
  • Maintain training records and relevant qualifications;
  • Keeps work area clean, neat and organized;
  • All other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Degree or diploma (or equivalent) in Chemistry related field and 3 years experience in a related analytical field;
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining analytical instruments, including HPLC-UV, LC-MS, LC-MSMS, GC-FID, GC-MS, GC-MSMS, and ICP-MS;
  • Experience with multiple software platforms: OpenLab and Mass Hunter;
  • Good English communication skills required (auditory, verbal, written, and reading);
  • High attention to detail and strong problem solving skills;
  • Ability to handle pressure from high sample volumes and competing turnaround times;
  • Work independently and as part of a team;
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take on varied tasks as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

  • Leduc, AB T9E 0Z4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
