SaskAbilities is dedicated to providing supported employment services to individuals to assist them in defining and
achieving their employment goals while supporting employers to meet their hiring needs. This position is guided by the
Supported Employment philosophy and focuses on providing the development and coordination of employment
experiences and opportunities for individuals experiencing disability and/or employment barriers. We have an exciting
opportunity for an individual to join our team in the position of Work Experience Coordinator.

Duties and responsibilities:

Maintain positive communications with the client, their support network and referring agent. 
Initiate, build and maintain positive relationships with business owners, human resource professionals and hiring

managers in order to present clients as potential employees. 
Responsible for the development and coordination of individualized work experience opportunities that include

workplace tours and job shadows, and liaise with employers to outline opportunities that reflect the goals and action
items within each client’s plan. 

Promote to employers the benefits of a diverse workforce and how various employment supports (job coaching, job
carving, and job accommodations) can encourage a successful entry into an employer’s workplace. 

Provides on-site support of work experiences to ensure they are beneficial to client growth and development of work
skills and behaviours. This includes job coaching, transportation training, and facilitation of co-worker relations and
encouragement of natural supports within the workplace to promote independence. 

Monitor and document client progress during work experience placements, including skill attainment and goal
achievement, and negotiate employment opportunities where appropriate. 

Maintain administrative duties including file recordings, database input, action plans, and performance indicators. 
Work effectively as part of a team.

Qualifications:

Relevant Post-Secondary education in Human Services or Marketing and two years related experience. 
Knowledge and understanding of issues pertaining to training and employment that people experiencing disability may

encounter, including supported employment models. 
Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills, empowering people to build independence. 
Effective written and verbal communication, problem solving, time-management and organizational skills. 
Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and a reliable vehicle.

The final candidates are required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search.
Successful candidates are recommended to have an Auto Pak with at least 1 million dollars in liability insurance

Compensation:Pay Class 15 (range of $24.69 to $30.70 per hour) plus benefit package
