PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Web Support Specialist is primarily responsible for updating and maintaining the NWAC websites. The Web Support Specialist participates in all aspects of website design and development. This position works directly with communications management and other team members on a variety of projects to help the Communications team meet short- and long-term goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Initial point of contact for all web related support phone calls;

· Log workorder’s and ensure timely follow-up of projects before and after completion.

· Actively review all organizations’ websites for functionality and accuracy.

· Ensure organization documents and posters are posted and accurate.

· Monitor the website.

· Ensure all links are functional and routed properly.

· Ensure all advertising is compliant and current.

· Test lead forms and phone numbers including 3rd Party sources.

· Ensure sites render and function properly on all web enabled devices.

· Work with 3rd party hosting and application providers to install, remove, and troubleshoot web related products.

· Provide web administrative support to the organization

· Proactively research most effective and professional web methods and designs.

· IT Support Desk. Respond to common inquiries or complaints from guest, management and partners.

· Work with the online service request queues and organization service requests to triage and resolve website change requests and incidents to NWAC standards.

· Maintain high levels of user satisfaction.

· Team with other functional areas to manage the resolution of that situations involve multiple areas of technical expertise.

· Participate in aspects of the website development and implementation as needed to support site launches, application go-lives and upgrades. Participates in quality assurance process for all site launches.

· If needed, perform on-call (off hours) duties, which include but are not limited to the timely resolution of high priority issues.

· Consistently check completed work requests for accuracy and quality.

· Maintain a level of technical proficiency to satisfactorily perform functions associated with the position

· Review and performance-testing existing server systems.

· Ensure the quality of web products and services.

· Troubleshoot network and server failures.

· Propose and implement solutions to website malfunctions.

· Monitor and maintain website system security.

· Provide technical support.

· Audit and edit organization websites.

· Back-up web servers and providing recovery options.

· Other related duties, as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar field.

· One or more years of experience in a technical support environment and/or web developer role.

· Previous work experience as a web technician.

· Knowledge of web tools including Dreamweaver, FrontPage, and Adobe Acrobat.

· Detailed knowledge of hardware systems including circuit boards, processors, and memory modules.

· Knowledge of network security systems.

· Ability to troubleshoot complex web and software issues.

· Good communication skills.

· Experience supporting WordPress (WooCommerce, Shopify, G Suite, and other technology platforms a plus!)

· Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues in user-friendly language to non-technical end users.

· Excellent organization skills and attention to detail

· Solid understanding of basic computer functions and the ability to teach and train others

- Domain transfer, DNS setup experience

· Understanding of web hosting and basic server administration

· Website maintenance, backup, restore, email hosting, and control panel experience

· Basic understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript

· Ability to work independently and balance multiple priorities
