WCB & Disability Administrator – Temporary

Diversified Transportation is currently looking for a WCB & Disability Administrator to join our team in Fort McMurray. This is a full-time temporary position. Reporting to the HSE Director, this role will be responsible for monitoring and handling all collision case files, WCB claims and disability (STD) files. This position will work closely with Managers on collision/WCB files to ensure they are completed accurately.

Additionally, the WCB & Disability Administrator will monitor abstracts for infractions and multiple vendors (Drug and Alcohol and Physical Demands testing) for inadequate results.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitor database for collision, near miss, WCB incidents
  • Enter data from WCB & STD files for accurate reporting
  • Ensure all collision and HSE-related files are entered into MVI monthly summary
  • Discuss STD benefit options with employees
  • Monitor modified pay for employees off regular duties due to work place injury
  • Enter new WCB claims into WCB Web page for submission
  • Communicate with WCB as necessary regarding claims
  • Meet with the OIS staff as necessary to facilitate return to work for injured employees
  • Ensure abstracts are collected annually (by birth month) and added to employee files
  • Ensure driver’s license verification checks are completed on a quarterly basis
  • Notify Operations/Maintenance Managers when an employee who is off work is cleared to return to duties
  • Communicate with Insurance Adjuster regarding files they are handling during a monthly meeting or as required
  • Arrange for appraisals of vehicles involved in 3rd party at fault collisions
  • Ensure payments for adjuster fees, appraisal fees, 3rd party payments, etc. are processed by Finance and distributed for 3rd party collision files
  • Monitor post-incident testing results
  • Send and receive estimates to/from the Body Shop on accident damages
  • Provide support to HSE Manager and Director as required
  • Provide monthly statistics to Managers for client reporting – on-site reportable incidents and D&A stats

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of direct relevant experience
  • Experience working in an HSE role or in a Health & Safety environment preferred
  • Previous admin experience or experience with WCB/WCB claims processes and dealing with insurance adjusters
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office applications and other computer systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate well to others and create effective customer-focused relationships at all levels
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to multi-task while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work under pressure, including under time constraints
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision with established policies and procedures, including timelines for tasks
