What You’ll Do:
  • Operating and monitoring control systems for waste water treatment and distribution. The goal is to produce treated water that meets regulations.
  • Collects water samples for chemical testing and treats the water with appropriate chemicals.
  • Reads flow meters, gauges, and other instruments to measure water output and waste content levels.
  • Analyzes test results and readings, and makes adjustments to equipment and systems as needed.
  • Monitors and inspects equipment for malfunctions, responds to alarms and abnormalities, and takes corrective action.
  • They maintain records and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Maintains equipment, inventory of chemicals, and ensures tidiness of the area of work.

Required Qualifications:
  • Completion of high school or Grade 12
  • Strong aptitude for chemistry.
  • Ability to work in hot, humid conditions.
  • Ability to use personal protective equipment.
  • Must be willing to obtain Transportation of Dangerous Goods (Ground) Certificate as well as a Forklift License.

Physical Demands:
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 60 poundsregularly.
  • Stand, walk, bend, and reach regularly during the shift.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks and handle physically demanding duties.
  • Meet specific height and weight requirements for operational needs (>5’0 and >150lbs).
  • Operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment (training provided if necessary).
  • Physical agility to maneuver in tight spaces and climb stairs or ladders as required.

Preferred Characteristics:
  • Working knowledge of waste water treatment and control procedures.
  • Working knowledge of related company instructions, company processes and MSDS labels.
  • Working knowledge production management computer system and other related internal control systems.
  • Completion of a college program in water and waste water or a closely related discipline; or equivalent.
