Omex Manufacturing ULC located in Stratford, Ontario produces automotive parts for several major manufacturers, and our product portfolio includes a wide array of stamped, welded, and assembled components.

Tool & Die Maker – Rotating Day and Afternoon Shift

We are currently recruiting for a Tool & Die Maker with a minimum of three (3) years of practical experience to join our rapidly expanding business. Reporting to the Toolroom Lead Hand, the successful candidate will provide the required tooling support to maintain day-to-day operations on the shop floor.

General Responsibilities:

• Investigate and Solve Tooling Problems/Issues
• Repair Machine Tools and Parts
• Fit and Assemble Components and Machine Part to Close Tolerances
• Maintain, Repair and Calibrate Precision Measuring Instruments
• Assist in Tool Set-ups
• Sharpen and Maintain Dies
• Maintain and Complete Inspection Records, using ShopEdge
• Troubleshoot Tooling Issues

Qualifications:

• Tool & Die Maker Trade Certificate
• 3+ years’ experience, preferably in automotive manufacturing
• Ability to read and Interpret Engineering Drawings, Blueprints and Charts
• Ability to verify dimensions of machined tools and parts using Precision Instruments

Skills and Competencies:

• Able to work with minimum supervision and make decisions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter with the ability to prioritize many different tasks and meet deadlines in a lean manufacturing environment
• Strong interpersonal skills with all levels of associates
• Knowledge of TS16949 & ISO 14001 automotive quality standards required

Salary: $32.00-$35.00 per hour

• Overtime pay after 40 hours.
