Day in the Life:

Reporting into the Content Lead – Vendor Media & Partnerships, the Copywriter – Vendor Media & Partnerships is an integral part of the Creative team, creating compelling content, stories and advertising work for vendor partners who are connecting their brand with The Bay’s audience. The successful candidate must be equal parts writer, editor, storyteller, and ideas-haver, with exceptional organizational skills and the communication skills to transform ideas into engaging content. The Copywriter – Vendor Media & Partnerships has a strong sense of brand tone, a passion for purpose-driven storytelling, and an eye for detail. This person is interested in retail and its changing landscape, and knows how to tell branded stories in an authentic and engaging way.

This role will actively support our DE&I framework by identifying opportunities to increase the diversity of our products and brands. They will lead with inclusion to nurture our OneTeam culture by removing barriers for our Associates and communities.


What You Will Do:

  • Work with our vendor media partnerships team and our graphic designers and content lead to interpret briefs and craft compelling copy that speaks in The Bay’s voice while achieving the objectives of our partners.
  • Write purposeful, consumer-led copy across site, email, social media and print with a masterful sense of tone to engage relevant audiences.
  • Champion brand expression and tone of voice while maintaining consistencies in copywriting.
  • Develop proactive ideas and innovative creative solutions that address brand and business goals.
  • Keep an eye on the branded content landscape to identify best-in-class work and inform how we execute our work.
  • Present concepts to project stakeholders and creative leaders with clarity and conviction.
  • Bring style, culture and trend inspiration to the team.

What You Will Need:

  • 2+ years experience as a copywriter for an agency or in-house creative team.
  • A compelling portfolio that elevates a brand’s creative experience.
  • The ability to distill information into engaging stories that are executable.
  • Work that proves you can think big and optimize based on channel (and your book proves that).
  • The capacity to thrive in a team environment and play well with others in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • The ability to clearly and articulately present and explain your rationale for creative work.
  • Great taste and an eye on relevant trends within the industry. Experience with SEO integration is beneficial.
