The Opportunity:

Are you an Information Systems professional with strong systems analysis skills? At Canadian Natural, Systems Analysts (SA) draw on their experience to contribute to systems analysis, systems design, application support activities and project technical support.

As an SA, you will be responsible for supporting and enhancing a portfolio of applications and systems for our oil sands mining business stakeholders as well as managing vendor relationships. You will provide technical guidance and direction to other IS resources to meet the objectives of the oil sands mining business groups.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work with key stakeholders in our oil sands mining business and other IS groups to review and resolve issues and identify opportunities
  • Support, document and enhance a portfolio of custom developed and third party mining applications
  • Participate in projects as a key technical resource for our oil sands business
  • Analyze and document technical requirements for projects and other initiatives
  • Liaise with application vendors and act as a focal for support requests
  • Assist developing cost estimates for the annual IS Oil Sands Mining capital and sustainment budgets

  • Job location; Calgary, Alberta
  • Shift schedule: 5x2 - Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts
  • Eligible for relocation pursuant to Canadian Natural’s Relocation Regular Policy

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Sciences or a related field; Typically, 1 to 3 years’ experience as a Systems Analyst or similar role, preferably in the oil and gas industry
  • Demonstrated proficiency in N-tier application analysis and design, business modeling, process modeling, data modeling, and effort/cost modeling and estimating as well as business case and technical writing
  • Highly developed analytical, interpersonal and team skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong multi-tasking and prioritizing abilities

Successful applicants must provide acceptable evidence of being fully immunized against COVID-19 (two doses of Health Canada approved COVID-19 vaccine, plus 14 days after your second vaccination) before a start date can be set.
