The Opportunity

We are actively seeking a Supply Chain Coordinator to join our Purchasing team at AGI Swift Current, a division of AGI. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that we have the right product in the right place at the right time to support production and minimize costs. This role is very cross-functional as you will work closely with the Sales, Production, Engineering and Accounting departments.

The Team

We are currently a dynamic team of 2 from varied backgrounds. We collaborate closely with each other as well as the entire AGI Swift Current Leadership Team. The Supply Chain Coordinator will report directly to the Purchasing Manager.

Responsibilities

  • The Supply Chain Coordinator will require to complete the following but not limited to:
  • Lead or support the implementation of cost reduction initiatives
  • Negotiate price reductions with suppliers
  • Ensure suppliers remain compliant to commitments
  • Lead or support the application of contractual remedies against material breaches (claims)
  • Identify supply chain risks and develop strategy to minimize impacts
  • Develop new sources of supply and establish strategic alliances
  • Establish and maintain networks internally and externally
  • Support the business unit with appropriate sourcing strategies

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • An excellent memory and attention to details
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • 3 + years in a Purchasing/Procurement role (Industry experience preferred)
  • Self-motivated and driven
  • Able to exercise good judgement and make necessary decisions
