The Downstream Risk Management Student within the Downstream Risk Management team is an excellent opportunity to support the manufacturing and downstream functions at Cenovus. This role is targeted at Engineering students looking to apply their learning to risk management.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the risk management process across the Downstream portfolio. Support Downstream Risk Network and Risk Management Standardization project.
  • Provide support in the facilitation of risk management workshops and training sessions. Take notes and produce minutes of meetings and reports.
  • Provide technical support for tools and applications used in the risk management process.
  • Assist with the set-up and maintenance of risk registers and the risk register platform database, including PowerApps and SharePoint.
  • Develop new and existing tools and processes to facilitate risk reporting and risk management.
  • Collaborate with Downstream entities and DRM Network on a variety of risk management topics, including risk statuses and risk mitigation activities.
  • Assist with Downstream risk consolidation, risk aggregation and risk reporting.
  • Provide general support towards ongoing Cenovus Operation Integrity Management System (COIMS) Element 3 - risk management activities.
  • Support the development of risk management content and maintenance of Downstream risk management SharePoint.
  • Support reporting activities, including compiling, and analyzing data and creating graphs, and comparison reports.
  • Sharing part of the daily workload as required in collaboration with other DBA teams.
  • Develop various training materials and presentations.
Qualifications
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa)
  • Available to begin work May 1, 2023 OR September 5, 2023
Education
  • Enrolled in an Engineering Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term
  • Attached copies of transcripts
  • Currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered
Skills / Competencies
  • Ability to problem solve, prioritize multiple items, time manage, and self-motivate
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, communication, public speaking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to complete complex data and statistical analytics
  • Knowledge or Microsoft Suite, including creating VBA Macros in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate) would be an asset
  • Sharepoint, web development, coding, programming data visualization (Power BI, TIBCO Spotfire or equivalent) would be an asset.
