Duties:

The Department of Geography and Environment invites applications for Level II Markers to help with marking or in labs for the following course during the Fall 2021 term.

38:170 How Earth Works: Applied Physical Geography
Up to 3 (dependent on enrollment)
7 hours per week for 12 weeks (up to 84 hours)

38:192 Environment and Society

Up to 45 hours for the term, each

The successful candidates will assist with marking assignments and portions of midterm exams, using a marking guide provided by the course instructor. Those hired for 38:170 will also assist the lab instructor in class, during scheduled lab periods. The actual expected hours per week may vary. These positions may include other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Preference given to current Brandon University students; at least second-year undergraduate level/standing is required
  • Grade A or above in course for which you are applying for be a marker
  • Demonstrated success in other Geography & Environment courses is an asset
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to follow the marking guide and scheme consistently and correctly (detail-oriented)
  • Ability to take direction and meet deadlines (reliable & punctual)
  • Previous experience preferred
